Pattern Review Love!

It's no secret that I love Pattern Review.  I do my best to get on there and let everyone know what I thought of a pattern, and I usually consult others' reviews before I buy a new pattern (especially the more expensive ones!).   While browsing the site this morning, I was surprised to see that my comments about the Peony Dress were featured in the "Best Patterns of 2012" segment.  I did a little happy dance, and thought I would share the news with you!

If you're interested in seeing the best patterns of 2012 (because, really, why wouldn't you be?) head on over to Pattern Review to check out the article!

If you want to see my other reviews on Pattern Review, you can check out my profile here.

What do you guys think? Do you own any of the patterns on the list?  I'd love to see anything you've made and hear what you have to say!

  1. Congratulations on your PR mention!!! That's fabulous.
It turns out that I own four of the ten patterns, and have made three--Peony, Cambie, and Renfrew. All wonderful patterns. I have made two Peonys, and am making seconds of Renfrew and Cambie in the immediate future. That's a big deal for me, because I tend not to revisit patterns, being a relatively new sewist who's always looking for fresh experiences.
I also own Vogue 8747 (blouse/top), and based on the PR Top 10 mention I'm very enthusiastic about making one soon. I didn't realize it was getting such raves for its accurate fitting. Nice.
    Congrats again, and Happy Sewing!

  2. Congrats on your mention! I'm poking around on PR and I really should go over there more often. I rarely use it, and I'm thinking that's a mistake. I don't have any of the patterns they listed, but they look great, especially the skirt!

  3. Thanks! I've been looking at the cambie dress forever. I loved your version-it's nice to see it on someone who is pretty curvy up top, since I know the patterns are supposed to be for girls who are a little less well-endowed up top!

  4. Thanks girl! You should def. get on there. It's a bit dangerous, though, because I want one of everything! You can borrow my peony pattern any time, though :)
