No, I don't mean Christmas. It's baby season!
I feel like now that wedding season is wrapping up, baby season is in full swing. Or maybe it's always baby season. Who knows...
Two of my best friends are currently pregnant, and are due in the next few months. One of them is a first time Mom, and her baby shower was last weekend. I thought about sewing something cute for the little one, but with fall quickly giving way to winter chills, I thought a sweater would be a bit more appropriate!
Unfortunately (fortunately?), there are no little ones around my apartment to model pretty yellow cardigans for you, so a couple of snapshots of the finished product are all you'll get!
This was a super fast knit, and really perfect if you're looking for something quick and easy for a baby gift that won't take up much yarn. I frequently find myself oogling over cute baby sweaters, but I just can't bring myself to make up a peter pan cardi in fingering that the baby will wear once or twice before she grows out of it. Or throws up all over it.
I actually bought the entire ebook collection of these patterns, because they are all made in relatively thick yarn, and can easily be completed in a day (or a season of The Walking Dead). I'm definitely going to be making more of these designs soon. The patterns are well written and easy to follow. I highly recommend it if you're in the market for some quick baby makes!
Also, if you guys are on Ravelry, you can follow me here and see what else I'm up to.
I've been spending most of my nights snuggled up on the couch binge-watching Netflix and knitting (The Nightmare Before Christmas for the millionth time, anyone?). There's just something about coming home to a dark apartment that makes me want to veg out instead of sitting at the sewing machine. Anyone else with me here?
I am also working on a couple of secret projects that I can't share with you just yet, but I'll leave you with a this: there might be a white shirt involved...
